Here at Tutorage, we have recently undergone the transformation from an Ltd to a CIC (or Community Interest Company)!
As a CIC we are now able to achieve our goals of making education something that is more accessible to everyone.
Keep reading to find out more about why we made the change!
What is a CIC?
Community Interest Companies, or CICs, are limited companies that exist to provide a benefit to the community that they exist within.
They are more concerned with this community benefit than creating private profit. This means that any surplus is invested back into the company!
Why a CIC?
Here at Tutorage, we want to invest back into our community, and make education more accessible and engaging for everyone.
Becoming a CIC makes it a lot easier for us to commit to this, and also allows us to partner with charities and other community groups that want to make a difference!
What can we offer?
Becoming a CIC means that we can offer more to our community. We aim to use any profits from tutoring provisions to fund scholarships for 1:1 tuition for students who are unable to finance lessons. We are also committed to helping the parents! We are aiming to provide courses designed to teach you how to help your children with their work, and help you to make sense of what it is that your children are being taught.
We plan to provide affordable and free activities for children during school holidays – primarily children with SEND. We aim to enrich the experiences of and provide education to vulnerable children, whilst allowing for respite time for the families. These activities will be aimed at children who may not otherwise have access to STEM or musical learning!
